Being a part of the dance competition and convention circuit is an important part in young dancer's training. Dancers have the opportunity to learn from some of the best choreographers and teachers in the dance industry and gain international exposure. Many Nancy Chippendale Dancers have been discovered at competitions by Hollywood Directors, Walt Disney World Choreographers and Broadway Casting Directors. The Nancy Chippendale Competition Team boasts numerous National and World Championships and has had the opportunity to perform in cities all over the world.
Our Competitive Program offers enrolled students, ages 8-19, the opportunity to study various dance disciplines. Each student is required to take ballet, jazz and tap and may choose to participate in as many other electives as desired. Our competitive students may also choose to dance anywhere from one to six days per week. Dancers participate in a number of regional competitions in addition to optional conventions and national events. These dance training opportunities allow our dancers to better themselves through additional performance opportunities, judges' critique and class corrections as well as auditioning for professional jobs along side the best dancers in the nation. More importantly, our participation in the competition circuit has reinforced the importance of dedication, independence, team work and self motivation among our students who strive toward greatness in dance and in life.
